Podcast

For this project, I work as a part of a 4 member group. Two of us are from the UK, and the other two are from Spain so we wanted to compare the two cultures. We decided to make our topic music as it’s something that most people have interest and opinions on. It was our first experience in a radio studio and editing on Adobe Audition.

To begin, we found music to talk about and wrote a brief script surrounding it to give us guidance for what should be discussed so that nothing was missed. It also allowed us to avoid stuttering or running out of things to say. Overall, the conversation was mainly natural since that is what a podcast should sound like.

A problem we faced was not all members contributing to writing the script, leaving the writers feeling confused as to what to write for the others. We solved this by communicating face to face before recording to ensure we were all on the same page.

When it came to editing the recording, all members had now cooperated.

After playing back our final product, we were advised to make the transition to and from our music samples smoother instead of a jump cut. We would also have to get permission for the copyrighted music if we were ever to publish our content, but for the sake of getting to know the equipment and software, it wasn’t necessary.
